Tasks
The President of Statistics Poland established Research Centre for Social Economy on 9 April 2009 as a separate unit of the Statistical Office in Krakow, in order to provide comprehensive statistical information in the area of the social economy and to carry out nationwide research, methodological and development work in this area.
As part of the Centre’s work statistical research is carried out on: associations and similar organizations, foundations, faith-based charities, rural housewives clubs, business and professional associations, employers’ organizations, trade unions, political parties, cooperatives and reintegration units.
The research covers the project activity of these entities, HR and financial policies, the conditions of conducting their statutory activities, their investment policies and other areas.
The tasks of Research Centre for Social Economy include, among others:
- providing interested parties with statistical data on the social economy;
- participating in the preparation of methodology, the organization of statistical research and studies in the field of social economy statistics;
- actively cooperating with the academic community, aimed at advancing or expanding statistical research in the field of the social economy;
- providing substantive oversight and coordination of nationwide research on social economy statistics;
- preparing up-to date publications and statistical analyses and other result information regarding the social economy;
- identifying the need for statistical data in the field of the social economy;
- participating in the development of Statistical survey program of official statistics in the field of the social economy;
- cooperating with domestic and foreign institutions and organizations responsible for designing and implementing social economy policy;
- promoting social economy statistics.
