Tasks
The President of the Statists Poland established the Centre for Health and Health Care Statistics within the organizational structure of the Statistical Office in Krakow on 9 February 2007, to implement nationwide tasks performed for official statistics in the areas of health and health care.
The Centre’s work includes statistical research on topics such as first aid and emergency medical services, outpatient health care, health resort treatment and rehabilitation, and the activities of pharmacies and pharmaceutical outlets.
The Centre’s responsibilities include:
- providing stakeholders with statistical data on health and health care;
- participating in the development of methodology, organization of statistical research, and surveys in the field of health and health care statistics;
- actively collaborating with the scientific community to improve or expand statistical research in the field of health and health care;
- providing content-related supervision and coordination of nationwide research on health and health care statistics;
- preparing current publications and statistical analyses, as well as other information related to health and healthcare;
- identifying the need for statistical data in the field of health and healthcare;
- participating in the development of a public statistics survey program in the field of health and healthcare;
- collaborating with domestic and international institutions and organizations responsible for designing and implementing health and healthcare policy;
- popularizing health and healthcare statistics.
