Surveys on family support and social assistance

Introduction

Thank you for your cooperation and participation in the public statistics surveys on family support and social assistance. The results of the statistical surveys are used by central and local government bodies and are disseminated in the publications of Statistics Poland, regional statistical offices, and specialist journals.


In all surveys conducted by Statistics Poland, the legal principle of statistical confidentiality is strictly observed. This means that the information collected during the surveys cannot and will not be used for any purpose other than statistical ones. The confidentiality of the information is therefore fully guaranteed. All public statistics staff are bound by an oath to keep statistical confidentiality.


Statistical surveys concerning family support and social assistance throughout Poland are conducted by the staff of Statistics Poland in Kraków.
 

Statistical surveys:

PS-01 Report on institutional foster care and day-support centres

Data collection period: 12.01 – 05.02.2026

The aim of the survey is to provide information on institutional foster care and day-support centres, in particular on the types of facilities, the supervising bodies, the number of places and residents, and the number of volunteers working in the facilities.

PS-02 Report on family foster care

Data collection period: 12.01 – 12.02.2026

The aim of the survey is to provide information on family foster care and the characteristics of children in family foster care. The survey covers related foster families, professional foster families, non-professional foster families and family foster homes.

PS-03 Report on stationary social assistance facilities

Data collection period: 08.01 – 30.01.2026

The aim of the survey is to provide information on stationary social assistance facilities – social assistance houses, family-based assistance houses, establishments ensuring 24-hour care for disabled persons, chronic patients or elderly persons within the scope of economic activity or their statutory activity, community self-help centres or other support centres for persons with mental disorders, houses for mothers with children under age and pregnant women, night shelters, hostels for homeless persons and other family support facilities.
